Outcomes

What we are working toward, and how we will know when we are getting there.

Praxis Youth is an early-stage organisation. We are building our programs, our evidence base, and our measurement systems in parallel. This page sets out the outcome domains we are working toward and is honest about where we are in the journey of demonstrating impact.

Our Outcome Domains

Our work is oriented around five interconnected outcome domains. Together, these reflect what a genuinely good outcome looks like for a young person leaving the justice system.

1. Housing Stability

Young people have safe, secure, and appropriate housing. Housing is treated as the foundation of every other outcome — not a reward for achieving them.

2. Reduced Justice Involvement

Young people are not returning to custody or accumulating new charges. We track engagement with the justice system as a primary indicator of whether our model is working.

3. Wellbeing and Connection

Young people report improvements in their mental health, sense of identity, and connection to family, community, and culture. For First Nations young people, this includes connection to Country and community.

4. Education, Training, and Employment

Young people are engaged in education, vocational training, or employment that is meaningful to them. We support access rather than impose expectations.

5. Self-Determination and Agency

Young people have a growing sense of control over their own lives, are active participants in decisions that affect them, and are developing the skills and confidence to navigate systems independently.

Where We Are Now

Praxis Youth commenced operations in late 2025. We are currently in our program establishment phase — recruiting, building referral pathways, and putting our measurement frameworks in place. We are not yet in a position to report outcome data.

We are committed to publishing honest, rigorous outcome data as it becomes available — including data that challenges our assumptions. We believe transparency about what is and is not working is essential to building trust with the communities we serve, our funders, and the broader sector.

Our first outcome report is expected to be published in 2026. Updates will be posted to this page and shared via our annual reports.
