Michael Kwan
CEO / Director

Michael Kwan is the Founder & CEO of Praxis Youth, driven by his own lived experience of homelessness and incarceration. While in youth justice, Michael completed his HSC, began studying civil engineering at UNSW and secured housing upon release – an unprecedented pathway for young people exiting the system. Michael now drives Praxis Youth’s strategy, partnerships and systems-change agenda across housing and youth justice.

Hannah Tan
Director of Care

Hannah Tan serves as the Director of Care & Mental Health, leading our casework practice and youth support framework. With a background in social work, criminology and lived experience of mental health systems, Hannah co-leads the design and delivery of our support pathways, ensuring Praxis Youth delivers effective, evidence-based and people-centred care.

Owen Chen
Program Director

Owen is the Program Director at Praxis Youth. In his youth, Owen spent time in out-of-home-care, youth justice and immigration detention. After completing his HSC in custody, Owen went on to advise the Advocate for Children and Young People on youth-centred policy and advocacy. He now leads the day-to-day delivery of Praxis Youth’s housing and support model, walking alongside young people with an understanding grounded in lived experience.
