What an incredible day. We were honoured to attend Alex Reis‘ graduation, celebrating the monumental completion of his HSC.
This achievement is a powerful testament to Alex’s personal work ethic, resilience and determination in the face of significant systemic challenges.
For many, the HSC is just “something everyone does”. For those who are justice-affected, completing high school requires overcoming massive (and often invisible) barriers to education. Alex’s success is a vital reminder of the need to continue unlocking opportunities for young people – particularly in education.
Alex also gave an inspirational speech, foreshadowing the impact he is going to make as he hopes to start his undergraduate studies at UNSW next year.
