On Tuesday 4th November, Hannah Tan and Michael Kwan represented Praxis Youth at the Punter’s Politics Fundraising Diner.
The purpose of their attendance was to advocate for young people affected by the justice system and tell the story behind Praxis Youth.
Hannah and Michael were able to challenge stereotypes, break down stigmas and shed light on the realities young people face – to both the general public and several notable politicians including Senator Bridget McKenzie, Senator Fatima Payman, MP Allegra Spender, Senator David Pockock and MP Peter Whish-Wilson.
Michael reflects, “It was very encouraging to see their openness, willingness to listen and passion for making meaningful change in our country. There was genuine interest in hearing about the human side of youth justice and readiness to connect us with others who might help us move solutions forward.”
